    Defra is looking to award grants via the National River Walks Programme to address the Environmental Improvement Plan 2025 commitment to deliver 9 new national river walks, one in each region of England. One river walk has already been delivered in the North West region. We now welcome applications from the remaining 8 regions of England to deliver the next river walks.   • Better Futures Fund: Learning and Development Service

    DCMS is providing up to £2,600,000 of grant funding to a delivery partner/consortium to provide a learning and development service that strengthens the knowledge, capability and confidence of organisations and stakeholders to design and deliver Social Outcomes Partnerships through the Better Futures Fund.   • Transferable Audio-Visual Equipment on Rail Replacement Coaches

    The Department for Transport is providing up to £2 million in grant funding to support coach operators in delivering accessible journey information on rail replacement services. From the 1st of August 2026, these services will be required to provide clear, audible and visible information, including next stop announcements, in line with the Public Service Vehicle (Accessible Information) Regulations. The grant will reimburse up to 75% of the cost of purchasing transferable audio-visual equipment, helping operators meet these requirements and provide passengers, particularly disabled passengers, with greater confidence, independence and consistency when travelling during disruption. The scheme will run for six months, or until funding is fully allocated.
