  • HMPPS Small Grants Scheme Dog Therapy project at HMP Preston

HMP/YOI Preston is exploring the possibility of having an organisation attend HMP/YOI Preston to deliver small group of 6 people sessions involving dogs – potentially training/agility sessions, but there may be other options available - that service users could participate in. By gaining skills and knowledge about animal care and the benefits that brings, HMP/YOI Preston expect the course will enhance positive mental health approach and will encourage service users to look after personal hygiene, routine and structure and good diet and personal wellbeing. As a result, HMP/YOI Preston expect that this project will act as the springboard for the service users to become more engaged in the regime and the core activities.
