Summary
The Department for Education is looking to invite organisations to apply to secure grant funding to support the provision of English, Maths and wider organisational working continuous professional development (CPD) to the further education workforce.
The activities supported by the grant funding must be primarily targeted at teachers who teach English and/or maths resits, GCSE and/or other level 2 and below qualifications, to 16–19-year-olds in Further Education (FE) settings in line with the maths and English Condition of Funding as well as in line with the objectives set out in DfE policy objectives more broadly. This may also include learning support staff, managers and leaders who influence teaching practices and culture.

Objectives
The main objectives of this requirement are to:
· ensure teachers of 16–19-year-olds, in FE settings have access to high-quality, evidence based, relevant and fully funded CPD that provides them with the right skills, knowledge, confidence and experience to better support the students to progress;
· improve levels of understanding and confidence in the subjects for both students and teachers;
· provide teachers with the knowledge and skills to effectively meet the needs of all students, including those with SEND and/or from disadvantaged backgrounds;
· include the wider setting in ways of working that improve maths and English teaching across the college/provider, including collaboration with vocational teachers;
· support heads of maths and English and leaders in FE settings to embed the importance of good quality maths and English teaching across the FE setting.
These objectives will be met by improving the levels of teacher participation in, and the quality of, CPD by ensuring maximum reach and buy-in across the sector – including among senior leaders and ensuring teachers are supported to embed their practices.
